Stacking the Good<\/b><\/h2>\n

To start off our conversation, I asked Tony if he could give a couple top lessons, and he said:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Don\u2019t judge yourself too hard.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Decide what\u2019s most important for your child.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Both of those lessons include taking the focus off of yourself and looking around at who you can help in the world. We become too judgmental of ourselves when we are too self-focused. The practice of living to help others is something you can pass down to the next generation. Kids today are bombarded with messages of self-absorption \u2014 but that won\u2019t bring them happiness or fulfillment.<\/span><\/p>\n

    \u201cI think if I could give any lesson to my child, it's the lesson of contribution, which makes life so meaningful.\u201d <\/span>\u2013 Tony Robbins<\/b><\/p>\n

    At 61, Tony has become a father again and is very passionate about fathering well. He believes that there is a large population of kids that were raised in a generation of helicopter parents. The parents thought everything should be about the child, and then they wonder why their children become selfish or don\u2019t have great relationships when they get older.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Love is putting somebody else ahead of yourself. Plain and simple.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    \u201cAs long as you focus on you, you're not going to love you because the human brain is always looking for what's wrong, what to protect, and what needs to be changed.\u201d <\/span>\u2013 Tony Robbins<\/b><\/p>\n

    But according to Tony, when you\u2019re trying to serve something more than yourself, that\u2019s when the higher part of your consciousness is there. That\u2019s when your heart is flowing, and when you\u2019re doing that, you\u2019re not thinking about you and therefore you can feel love.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    When it comes to self-love, Tony thinks society has it wrong. He is a big proponent of \u201cstacking the good,\u201d meaning adding together all the positives in your life.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    \u201cI started \u2018stacking the good\u2019 in my life. Like, let me stack a dozen great memories \u2014 feel them, see them, and experience them. And I felt this biochemical change that didn\u2019t just last a half-hour or an hour, \u2026 it went on for a day or two. So I\u2019ve learned to stack the good.\u201d <\/span>\u2013 Tony Robbins<\/b><\/p>\n

    This positive mindset shift is what Tony practices in his daily life. He says that what people tell you about yourself doesn\u2019t matter. It\u2019s what you stack. It\u2019s what you assemble and create \u2014 it\u2019s the habit of what you put in your head.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    \u201cI developed this belief that life is calling not to give me something, but to deliver things for me to bring something to life. And I felt the joy that came not from getting, but giving.\u201d <\/span>\u2013 Tony Robbins\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

    Crushing limiting belief systems is what Tony is all about. As the top life coach in the U.S., he empowers people with the understanding that their biography is not their destiny.     I can relate to this story as I also grew up in a very chaotic household, struggled to graduate from high school, and had a lot of obstacles to overcome as a young adult. I had to learn how to construct a new life from the ruins around me and forgive those who hurt me.
